Glaze (Poetry)

Dipped in the sugary glaze of idolatry

Reinventing spiritual harlotry
Emotionally charged
Fervently pontificating
Mix and mingled words
Truth sounds more absurd
Factitiously twisting
Interpolating narratives
With re-imagined endings

Bounding you with a multitude of lies

Weekly meetings in disguise
Masking the soul with rhetoric

Powdered clichés making you sick

The ‘Blessed and Highly favored’ are
committing fornication with their neighbor

Coveting their brother and backbiting their sister

“Devil get thee behind me,
Wait, first please pay me,
For selling my soul away
Tired of rainy days
You promised me blue skies and a bow, now I want
to shine”

Like gold-plated jewelry, inferior interior I don’t care

Bubbling over with envy

As long as I’m blinging baby

Years are lapsing, souls consumed

Sugar intake on high, light-headed and giddy

Decaying teeth with a touch of diabetes
Time for a check up, almost rotten to the core
Is it enough or do you want more?
